The scope

The communication department that handles digital media has selected LCS to deploy a PADS4 digital signage solution from Net Display System on the group’s various sites. In a drive to rationalize communication tools, Thales wanted the publishers in charge of digital signage to use the same tool to broadcast on screens and across the intranet.

In other words, LCS set up a system that empowers the publishers to control screen content directly from the Group’s intranet CMS. In addition, Thales wanted 3 levels of on-screen communications across its various facilities: shared information on all sites defined by the communication department, corporate information specific to each of the group companies and finally local information specific to each establishment. So LCS set up a network of players to deliver the right message to the right place at the right time.

The solution

ln 2005, with the opening of the first terminal, NDS provided the first phase of their Smart Airport Signage solution by offering FIDS (Flight Information Display System) and PADS4 digital signage software to display flight information at the arrival/departure area, check-in counters, security area, gate area and baggage belt area. With around 50 displays strategically placed in these areas, passengerscan quickly see where to check-in and if their flight will depart on-time. Delay or gate changes will become visible on those displays within seconds.
